Our board of directors is a seasoned group of business leaders and professionals specializing in affordable housing development, construction, financing, real estate transactions and management. They are committed to preserving existing affordable multifamily housing from market-rate conversions, and ensuring housing stability for residents through innovative services solutions.
Chris Stokka
President/Board Chair

Chris is the development manager for MWF Properties LLC, a real estate development company that specializes in the development of affordable housing. His role with the company encompasses a variety of responsibilities including site selection, entitlements, project financing, construction management and asset management.
Since joining the company in 2008, Chris has overseen the development of more than 400 units of affordable housing in Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois. In addition to real estate, Chris has served as a logistics readiness officer in the Minnesota Air National Guard since 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas.
Harold Teasdale

Harold founded our organization in 1989 after researching the needs of the housing market and the opportunities for structuring affordable housing partnerships. He began his real estate career in 1972 by assuming management of housing cooperatives.
Harold is a licensed real estate broker whose experience includes property management; condominium and townhome sales; and creating, structuring and raising funds for real estate syndications. He is also co-owner of Metis Development, a real estate development company targeting affordable and market rate multifamily housing.
In addition to his formative role at Midwest Attainable Housing, Harold is president of Jackson Meadow Company, a business he formed to develop, market and manage a nationally-renowned conservation community in Marine on St. Croix outside of Stillwater, Minnesota.
Harold holds a Masters in Civil Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota.
David B. Juran

David brings years of housing and financing experience to his role on our board. He is President & Chief Executive Officer of Colliers Mortgage LLC. Prior to joining Colliers, in 2002 David served as senior vice president of a regional investment banking firm for more than 13 years.
His experience in real estate is extensive, having supervised the acquisition, development or financing of several hundred transactions totaling more than $3 billion of value.
David’s expertise extends to programs supporting the creation of multifamily housing and affordable housing, as well as regional and community-based hospitals, nursing homes and senior housing.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas, and is fully licensed under NASD Series 7 and 63.
Chris Zuspann

Chris has more than 28 years of construction experience, with 25 years at Frerichs Construction. He has extensive experience working on new ground-up construction and renovation/remodel projects for both nonprofit and for-profit developers.
Chris is actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the company, specializing in finance and business development. Through his oversight and leadership, the company has completed more than 12,000 units of occupied housing rehab along with more than 3,000 units of new housing construction.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration & Construction Management from Mankato State University. His professional memberships include: Minnesota Contractors License, Minneapolis Builders Exchange and Minnesota Real Estate Investors Association. Chris is also the board chair at Dale Evangelical Free Church and is active with the organization Kids Against Hunger.
Kent Simon

Kent Simon is a Partner and Vice President at Miller Hanson Architects. Throughout his forty-two year career Kent has been involved in the design of over 100 projects including housing, senior adaptive reuse, public, renovation, student, supportive and education.
Shawn Rasmussen

Shawn Rasmussen is a Project Manager at Eagle Building Company. Throughout his career, Shawn has managed the construction of more than 12 developments totaling 651 units in two states.
Shawn was one of the first employees at Eagle Building Company and has helped the company grow from $20 million in revenue to $145 million in revenue. Shawn graduated from Iowa State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering.
Tyler Manning

Tyler Manning is Vice President of Commercial Lending at Bridgewater Bank, a full-service bank dedicated to serving successful real estate investors, entrepreneurs, and individuals. In his current capacity, Tyler is charged with new loan production with a primary focus on commercial real estate including multifamily, affordable and community development finance tools.
Tyler is active in the real estate community by serving on various boards and committees including: Community Advisory Board and Gala Planning Committee with CommonBond Communities, the Minnesota Multi Housing Association golf fundraising committee (MHA) and a member of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). He is a graduate of the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN with a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management.
